Netflix is an excellent platform for watching web series and movies. It has also been adding a lot of anime content in recent years. Obviously, this includes anime films.
If you’re wondering what some of the best anime movies on Netflix are, our article has you covered. So, shall we begin with the list?
Best Anime Movies on Netflix!
13. Blame!

Megastructure is a wasteland filled with vast technology, and Killy is on a mission to find a human who possesses the terminal genes that can prevent Netsphere’s collapse.
But he has to deal with a slew of brutal encounters with cyborgs, silicon creators, and mindless machines. Can he complete his mission? Will he give up in the middle?
This film features one of the most intriguing settings in the science fiction genre. The most surprising aspect of this film is that it is a reboot with a better storyline and animation.
If you like sci-fi with a standard storyline and thrilling action scenes, you can’t afford to miss this one.
12. Mirai

Kun is a four-year-old boy who didn’t appreciate his family’s love because they were always busy with work, and it gets worse when he gets a little sister named Mirai.
While this is going on, one day he meets his family members’ past and future selves through time travel and begins to understand their difficulties. Will he finally understand his family? And why did Mirai appear in the future?
If you’re looking for a good anime film to watch with your family, this may be the best one available right now. It focuses perfectly on things like parental attention, relationships, and responsibilities.
Although, if you’re like Kun in the anime, you might find this anime more relatable, it may also bring you sadness. Regardless, if you’re bored and looking for something to watch, this is a great film to watch.
11. Mary and the Witch’s Flower

Mary Smith, a clumsy girl, lives with her Aunt and finds her new home rather boring. However, one day, a cat piques her interest, and she follows it into the woods, where she discovers a magical flower and a broomstick.
The broomstick transports her to Endor College, a school for witches. Mary is mistaken for a student, and she now has to learn to look after herself, while the academy no longer appears to be the same.
This anime film is up to the standards of classic Ghibli Studio anime films. At least in terms of animation and plot, but it couldn’t compete with Miyazaki’s films.
10. Lu Over the Wall

Kai lives in Hinashi Town and has been alone since he was a child. He has difficulty expressing himself, even to his parents, but he enjoys uploading the songs he has written to the internet.
When two of his friends invite him to join their band and they all go to Merfolk Island to practise. Then he meets Lu, a beautiful mermaid girl with a beautiful voice. What will his life be like from now on?
To be honest, the trailer for this anime film does not do it justice. The only way to describe it is to say how joyful and beautiful it felt. It feels a little sulky at first, but you just have to wait.
It will be an absolute joyride once the character Lu enters the story. If you miss your childhood and want to relive it, this anime film is for you.
9. A Whisker Away

Miyo is a lively young lady, despite the fact that she is neglected by her stepmother. But seeing Kento Hinode makes her happy, and she has a crush on him.
She transforms into a white cat and approaches Kento. But after seeing his life in person, she finds herself in a difficult situation. Will she assist him by revealing her true identity?
This anime is absolutely fascinating. Every minute is worth it, and I’m curious how its animation can be so simple yet so beautiful. You can feel the true essence of the anime if you take your time and observe the music.
This anime is a must-see if you want a cute romance or a strong female lead (which we rarely see).
8. Expelled from Paradise

Because of a massive disaster on Earth, humanity has relocated its consciousness into a digital world known as DEVA in the far future. However, a hacker known as Frontier Setter soon infiltrates the system and disrupts the peace.
Angela Balzac, one of the security system officers, is sent to Earth in the form of a human through a cloned body to track down the hacker. What truth lies beyond the paradise?
You’d probably need a fresh mind to fully appreciate this anime because, while there aren’t many complications in the story, the first twenty minutes might not pique your interest.
The 3D CGI was flawless, the sound was incredible, and the characters are simply wonderful. This is a must-see if you want a unique concept with insane animation.
7. Porco Rosso

Because of a curse, Marco Paggot’s face was transformed into a pig, and as a World War I ace, he decides to fly in the air and hunt down sky pirates.
But when he comes across a young American pilot named Donald Curtis, his plane crashes. Later, Marco meets a seventeen-year-old boy who has a talent for repairing aeroplanes, and the two of them re-encounter Donald.
Porco Rosso is a simple story that sounds old-school, but it is one of Ghibli’s most underappreciated films. It’s as entertaining as Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle.
It has beautiful animation (what would you expect from Miyazaki?) and, despite the fact that the story isn’t what you’d expect, it never bores you and instead keeps you entertained until the end.
6. The Garden of Words

Takao skips school one rainy day to sketch some beautiful designs in a garden. He meets a beautiful woman named Yukari Yukino there, and he sees her every day from then on.
They are both at ease with each other without even realising it. But their life struggles continue, and their relationship isn’t the same by the end of the rainy season.
Behold one of Makoto Shinkai’s treasures. While this anime is a romance drama, there is something unique about it. It is touching, heartwarming, and will undoubtedly tug at your heartstrings.
My words may not capture the true essence of this anime film, but I’m confident you should watch it if you haven’t already.
5. The Anthem of The Heart

Jun Naruse is a cheerful girl who used to be a chatterbox before revealing her father’s affair. Her regrets soon manifest into a fairy egg that seals her mouth, as she is afraid of ruining people’s lives.
Because of the curse, she was unable to interact with anyone in high school. She is unexpectedly chosen as a music member alongside others. However, it appears that this curse does not apply to singing.
You can tell from the synopsis that this is a high-quality anime. The animation, sweet and cute moments remind me a lot of the Anohana anime.
I won’t say it’s the best anime you’ll ever watch, but it will undoubtedly become one of them. So, if you’re looking for a good Netflix anime movie, this one might be for you.
4. Whisper of the Heart

Shizuku is a lively young lady who enjoys reading. She meets a cat on the train one day and follows it because it seemed interesting, ending up at an antique shop.
There, she is told an enthralling story about “The Baron,” a golden statue. Soon after, she befriends Seiji, the shop owner, and they work together to realise their dreams.
Whisper of the Heart is a beautiful story that is equally inspiring as Miyazaki’s other films. You will cry while watching this film, not because it is sad, but because it will fill you with so many emotions.
Who wouldn’t enjoy this anime film with a cast of memorable characters and a fantastic slice-of-life shoujo storyline? If you’re looking for some good anime movies to watch on Netflix, make this one a priority.
3. I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

Haruki Shiga is an anti-social person who is uninterested in others. However, one day he comes across a diary of his classmate Sakura Yamauchi in a hospital. She appears to be suffering from a terminal illness and has only a few days to live.
Shiga initially shows no sympathy for her, but he soon ends up accompanying her for the rest of the days. Can he learn the true meaning of life despite their opposing personalities?
Before you watch this anime, make sure to grab a couple of boxes of tissues because one box will not suffice. It makes you happy, sad, and allows you to laugh a few times, but you’ll know what’s coming.
You’ll probably want to watch it again and cry a little, and that’s perfectly fine. So, if you’re going to watch a beautiful and heartbreaking anime on Netflix, you should do so.
2. In This Corner of the World

The plot revolves around Suzu, a young girl who has spent her entire childhood peacefully in Hiroshima. But when she reaches marriageable age, she marries an unknown man in a nearby city, Kube.
Suzu struggles to adjust to her new surroundings while living with a new family, and to make matters worse, it is World War II. How will she find happiness in a world where her loved ones may perish?
Just a suggestion: bring a box of tissues with you just in case. The story is incredible, and it will make you cry more times than you can count.
It’s sad, happy, funny, and, above all, it’s a heartfelt anime. These types of anime films are relatively uncommon, and if you haven’t seen it yet, now is the time.
1. A Silent Voice

Shouko Nishimiya transfers to a new middle school and is bullied by her classmates because she is deaf. Shouya Ishida, in particular, bullies her to the point where she had to leave school.
Ishida soon becomes an outcast in the class, and he realises his error. It is, however, too late to seek forgiveness. After a few years, he runs into Nishimiya again; will he be able to redeem himself this time?
The only word that could possibly describe this anime is “realistic.” Seriously, most of us have been bullied at some point in our lives, and this anime depicts it brilliantly.
The consequences you will face and how you will be unable to live a happy life Everything in this anime is too realistic, and we have to admire Kyoto Animation’s beautiful visuals.
Let’s Conclude!
