Isekai anime is known for being imaginative and entertaining, with some of the most inventive stories (jk). If you’re unfamiliar with Isekai anime, the main character is transported to another world after dying in their own. After being transported to an unfamiliar world, they must find a way to survive. The genre’s premise encourages action, reflection, personal growth, and HAREMS.
This list will go over the 10 Best Isekai Anime Ever Made That You Should Watch.
10. Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

Grimgar is probably the only realistic isekai anime ever made.
It is about a group of people who wake up in a strange fantasy world with no memory of who they are or how they got there. To survive in a dangerous world, they form a party and must fight monsters and complete quests. They must learn to cope with their feelings of loneliness and helplessness as they grapple with their newfound reality.
Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash is a story about personal development, friendship, and triumph over adversity.
9. Isekai Quartet

The anime crossover series Isekai Quartet was created by Studio Puyukai. It follows various isekai anime series characters as they travel to a new world and attend school together.
Re:Zero, KonoSuba, Overlord, and The Saga of Tanya characters appear. The characters engage in various comedic skits and adventures as they learn to live together in their new environment.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Isekai Quartet, but I was pleasantly surprised. Watching characters from your favourite anime interact with each other in a comedic setting is a lot more fun than you think.
8. GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There

GATE is a military fantasy anime series from Japan. Itami Youji, a JSDF (Japan Self-Defense Forces) officer, finds himself in a fantasy world where he is tasked with protecting the people from a hostile empire. The series focuses on themes of politics, warfare, and morality as Itami and his team explore the world, work to bring peace, and learn about their new home. They meet a variety of magical creatures and make friends with the world’s demi-humans along the way.
GATE is unique among isekai in that it is a two-way isekai. Beings from another world invade Earth after a strange portal appears in the middle of Tokyo. Youji Itami, on his way to a doujinshi convention, ends up repelling multiple invaders and saving many lives. As a result, he is chosen to be among those sent to explore the new realm. Their goal is to mediate peace, but if they fail, the world could be plunged into the most devastating war in history.
It’s without a doubt one of my favourite isekai anime, and I’m hoping for a third season. I strongly recommend that you watch it.
7. Saga of Tanya The Evil

Tanya Degurechaff is a young soldier who has earned the nickname “Devil of the Rhine” for her ruthless tactics and exceptional tactical ability. In reality, she is the reincarnation of a man who defeated Being X, the self-proclaimed God, in a battle of wits. Tanya rises through the ranks of her country’s military as it prepares to enter a world war. Her astute actions and strategic prowess, on the other hand, unintentionally elevate the Empire to the status of one of the most powerful nations in human history. Despite Being X’s efforts to keep her from living a peaceful life, Tanya is determined to succeed.
Tanya rises through the ranks of the military, dealing with personal issues as well as threats from outside forces while trying to stay one step ahead of her superiors.
6. The Rising of the Shield Hero

The Rising of the Shield Hero follows Naofumi Iwatani, a young man who is summoned to another world along with three other people from different versions of Japan. To help them defeat the Waves, the four heroes are given a sword, spear, bow, and shield. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, is cursed with the role of “Shield Hero.” Naofumi is mocked and belittled by his fellow heroes and the people of the kingdom due to his lacklustre offensive abilities and personality.
When the heroes are provided with training materials and comrades, Naofumi sets out with Malty Melromarc, the only person willing to train alongside him. He is quickly betrayed by her and falsely accused of exploiting her. Melromarcans begin to judge and despise Naofumi for something he did not do. Naofumi embarks on his journey of self-improvement and reputation-building with a raging storm of hurt and mistrust in his heart. However, as the difficulty of being alone grows, Naofumi purchases Raphtalia, a dying demi-human slave, to accompany him on his journey.
5. Overlord

The popular virtual reality game Yggdrasil has come to an end. As the servers begin to shut down, Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown, chooses to spend his final moments in the game. Despite the fact that the clock has struck midnight, Momonga remains fully conscious as his character, and the non-player characters appear to have developed personalities of their own!
When confronted with this unusual situation, Momonga orders his loyal servants to assist him in investigating and seizing control of this new world in order to determine what caused this development and whether others are in the same situation.
4. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World

Kazuma Satou, a high school student and hikikomori, finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua after dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game. She offers him two choices: heaven or reincarnation in every gamer’s fantasy world!
Kazuma, who has chosen to start over, is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorising villages. But before he leaves, he can take one item of any kind to help him in his quest, and to annoy the Goddess Aqua for mocking him, he chooses her. However, Kazuma has made a critical mistake: Aqua is completely useless!
3. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

An unknown assailant stabs Satoru Mikami on the streets. He awakens in another world… as a slime, much to his surprise. Following his reincarnation, he encounters Veldora, the “Storm Dragon,” a sealed Catastrophe-level monster imprisoned for the past 300 years. Satoru befriends him, sympathising with his predicament and promising to help him destroy the seal. Veldora bestows the name ‘Rimuru Tempest’ on him in exchange for divine protection.
With his newfound abilities, Rimuru quickly evolves into one of the world’s strongest beings. This is one of the best animes I’ve ever seen, and I strongly advise you to watch it.
Overlord and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are frequently compared. But let me tell you something: Overlord is NOT better than the time I was reincarnated as a slime.
2. Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World

When Subaru Natsuki walks out of the convenience store, the last thing he expects is to be ripped from his everyday life and thrust into a fantasy world. Things aren’t looking up for the befuddled teen, who is attacked by thugs shortly after arriving. Despite having only a bag of groceries and a now-ineffective cell phone, he is quickly beaten to a pulp. Satella, a mysterious beauty on the hunt for the person who stole her insignia, saves Subaru. Subaru offers to assist her in her search to thank the truthful and generous girl, and later that night, he discovers where she is looking. Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered, unbeknownst to them, just minutes after discovering the insignia.
However, when Subaru awakens to a familiar scene—confronted by the same gang of thugs and re-meeting Satella—the mystery deepens as history inexplicably repeats itself.
1. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Despite his life of being bullied, scorned, and oppressed, a 34-year-old shut-in summoned the courage to attempt something heroic—only to have it end tragically. In an unexpected turn of events, he awakens in another world as Rudeus Greyrat, resuming his life as a baby born to two loving parents.
Rudeus quickly adjusts to his new surroundings by recalling memories and knowledge from his previous life. He begins to demonstrate magical talent far exceeding all expectations, honing his craft with the assistance of a mage named Roxy Migurdia. Rudeus learns swordplay from his father, Paul, and meets Sylphiette, a young girl who quickly becomes his best friend.
Rudeus strives to make the most of his newfound freedom while overcoming his traumatic past as he begins his second chance at life. And maybe one day he’ll discover what he couldn’t in his previous life: love.
Mushoku Tensei has by far the least likeable main character ever. From the first episode, the main character is so disgustingly disturbing that most of you will abandon the anime. However, if you can put up with the eccentric main character for a while, the payoff is insane.
That brings us to the end of the list; let us know in the comments what your favourite isekai anime is!
