Many people enjoy the zombie genre (including me). In fact, I’ve read every zombie-related manga I can find on the internet and would like to read more.
So, do you enjoy the zombie genre as much as I do? Do you enjoy watching characters survive an apocalypse while surrounded by terrifying zombies?
If so, you’ve come to the right place. With my zombie experience, we’ll be going through some fantastic zombie manga recommendations. So, let’s get started with the article!
Best Zombie Manga/Manhwa!
13. Cradle of Monsters

Makota, Yuuya, and their classmates are sailing on a ship on the sea. Everything was going swimmingly until something went wrong after they returned from their trip.
Suddenly, the ship is overrun with undead monsters, who continue to devour the humans in the ship’s corridor. They must survive the night in order to figure out what happened and how to escape.
Cradle of Monsters is an original take on the zombie genre. The schoolchildren’s time constraint adds to the excitement.
I’m a big fan of the zombie genre. So, obviously, my opinion is skewed, but this is a fantastic manga. Why not give it a shot if you haven’t already?
12. All Rounder

Shin Jaerim has been having zombie-related nightmares for the past two years, and the nightmares soon became real. The world has changed, and he has been assigned a mission to save it by eliminating all zombies.
Shin Jaerim begins his journey to save the world with a game-like system that grants experience and skills for killing zombies and mutated creatures. However, things will become more difficult.
All Rounder was an unexpected read for us. Initially, it felt like an ordinary zombie manhwa, but the author later added some interesting plot twists and the MC’s abilities, weapon of choice, and the characters are so fascinating. You’ll have a blast reading this Zombie LitRPG manga.
11. Eschaton Game

The main character in this manga is sick, and after learning that he has cancer, he has lost hope in his life. To his surprise, a zombie outbreak occurred, worsening the situation.
His life became hell as his family struggled to survive, but when he became infected, a miracle occurred. What could it be, and how will it benefit him?
Eschaton Game manhwa may not be to everyone’s taste because, rather than emphasising action, it emphasises the character’s emotions and growth.
It has good artwork and a standard plot, but it lacks entertainment to keep the reader interested. You can still enjoy this zombie manga.
10. Dead Days

Jingook Yeo and her mother, who has already turned into a zombie, become trapped in his house during a zombie apocalypse. He now has no hope, and he can’t kill her because he adores her (who wouldn’t?).
But when a girl from the next apartment sends him food and water via arrows, he finds a glimmer of hope. Soon after, he and the girl attempt to flee to a safe location.
When it comes to artwork, Dead Days is a work of art. The story is average, and the characters are unlikable, but the art is realistic.
It also depicts the apocalypse realistically, so if you enjoy seeing people survive in a zombie apocalypse, you’ll enjoy this fantastic zombie manhwa.
9. Sankarea: Undying Love

Chihiro enjoys horror films and frequently collects them. He also fantasises about watching them with a hot zombie girl. He can’t bear it when his pet cat dies and performs a resurrection to bring it back.
However, he meets Rea by chance, a beautiful girl who is going through a difficult time in her life. She is affected by the ceremony and becomes zombified. Did his wish come true?
Sankarea is an unusual zombie rom-com in that it features a romance between a man and a zombie. It has some amusing ecchi scenes, as well as some great humour.
It’s not your typical zombie manga with an apocalypse, but if you’re looking for something different or strange in this genre, this should fit right in.
8. Undead Messiah

Tim Muley has always enjoyed playing video games, particularly those involving zombies. On his way home from school one day, he discovers a shocking truth in the neighbor’s garden.
Many videos of infected people quickly go viral, and a pregnant woman is chased by a creature. All of these events point to the Zombie Apocalypse.
I like how this manga addresses the concept by focusing on the characters. The plot is fresh, and if you’ve been reading zombie stories for a while, you’ll enjoy this one.
It contains elements of horror, fantasy, mystery, and post-apocalyptic excitement. If you haven’t read it yet, you should do so right now.
7. High School of the Dead

When an infected person arrives at Rei’s school, the entire campus turns into a bloodbath, with the majority of students turning into zombies. It appears that the outside world is no longer safe either.
Rei, along with a group of survivors, breaks through the zombie hordes and travels through the city in search of their parents. But will they be able to survive in a world full of man-eating zombies?
Highschool of the Dead is an epic zombie manga with some legendary scenes, such as a sniper scene (you’ll know what I’m talking about once you read it). It perfectly depicts the apocalypse.
The only disadvantage is that the author died before the book was finished. Regardless, with tons of ecchi and action moments, there isn’t a moment you’ll get bored while reading it.
6. Fort of Apocalypse

Maeda was falsely accused and imprisoned. He meets a group of delinquents there, who later become friends with being weirdos.
One day, an infected van crashes into the prison, turning it into a bloodbath. Maeda and his cellmates must now survive in an environment where the outside world is even more terrifying.
Fort of Apocalypse is a fantastic zombie-themed game. It has amazing characters, and their development is excellent.
The idea is fantastic, and this could easily become one of your favourite zombie stories. So, if you haven’t read this zombie manga yet, you should do so right now.
5. Mortals of the Doom

After living for countless years in a mutated zombie world, Zuo Tianchen was the sole survivor. But he made it to the end, and just as he was about to die, he travels back in time.
Now that he knows that a zombie outbreak is imminent, he’ll do anything to survive and protect those who have sacrificed their lives for him in the past.
At first, Mortals of the Doom wasn’t my cup of tea. It was okay for the first fifty chapters, and some scenes kept me bored even after that. I put up with it somehow, and the end result was fantastic. I ended up liking it, and the idea of cultivation in a zombie world is intriguing, isn’t it?
4. I am Hero

Hideo Suzuki is a manga artist whose life has been difficult due to financial difficulties. Because of their situation, his girlfriend despises him even more.
But when a zombie outbreak occurs, he decides to use his firearm skills to survive. Can he truly become the cool hero he aspires to be?
I am Hero has a compelling story that will not disappoint. I first saw the movie, which was fantastic, but after reading the manga, I was completely engrossed.
The artwork is very detailed and impressive. If you haven’t found a good zombie manga in a while, this may satisfy your thirst in the short term.
3. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

The world changed dramatically during the industrial revolution, and there are undead everywhere. Fewer people began to live through fortifications and communication stations.
Only Hayajiros can travel between the stations without encountering the undead. Ikoma, a young worker who lost his sister to zombies, discovers a new weapon to combat them.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is a fantastic anime/manga. Although it is very similar to Attack on Titan, it really drives the concept home.
The action scenes are fantastic, and if you’re looking for a zombie manga with a complex plot, this is the one to get.
2. School-Live!

Takeya Yuki adores her school so much that she spends more time there than anyone else. She forms a “School-Living Club” with a few other girls, and they spend the night camping there.
But what if a zombie apocalypse occurs in this school? Especially when there is no one else but this group of adorable girls?
School-Live! is a manga with a “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover” vibe. At first glance, it appears to be a harmless and cute manga with amusing characters. But you’re eventually wrong.
The more you read, the more you’ll discover. If you’ve already seen the anime, we highly recommend reading manga for additional entertainment.
1. Housekeeper

The story is set in the near future, when Artificial Intelligence (A.I) is becoming more common among humans. However, when a zombie outbreak occurs, A. I begin to flee because they do not recognise creatures as humans.
However, the AI Housekeeper Hasty becomes attached to her master’s final words and vows to find a cure no matter what. Even if it means fighting against the entire world in order to exterminate them.
Housekeeper is one of the best zombie manhwa I’ve read, with a well-developed plot. Most of these mangas don’t give us a perfect setting and frequently mess up the story halfway through.
You don’t have to worry about that with this one because it will keep you entertained until the end. It is, in my opinion, vastly underappreciated.
Concluding Zombie Manga!
