10. Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero

The world she cares about is under threat from mysterious destructive forces known as Vertexes, and a strange phone app summons the Hero Club to help save it. In order to battle the Vertexes, she and her best friend Mimori Tougou, as well as sisters Fuu and Itsuki Inubouzaki, must transform into magical girls.
Yuuna and the Hero Club must fight for their world’s survival while confronting the harsh realities of their own abilities, all while learning what it truly means to be a hero.
You should give it a shot if the combination of magical girl, drama, and slice-of-life sounds appealing to you. The first half isn’t as good as the second, but perseverance will pay off.
9. School Days
Makoto Itou, a freshman in high school, notices Kotonoha Katsura for the first time at the start of his second semester. He is immediately taken with her beauty, despite the fact that they ride the same train every day, but his shyness prevents him from approaching her. Instead, he secretly takes a photo of her and sets it as his phone’s wallpaper: a charm that, if kept hidden, is said to help you realise your love. Sekai Saionji, a classmate, notices the picture and, instead of reporting him, offers to help him set up with Kotonoha, even befriending her just for him. As a result, the three develop an unintentional friendship.
School Days follows three teenagers as they navigate high school’s ups and downs. The story of these three students is said to linger in the mind long after the dramatic conclusion in a story full of romance and melancholy.
The characters in this anime are some of the most illogical people I’ve ever seen, and believe me, I’ve seen a lot of illogical shit. By the end, the girls are lining up for no apparent reason to be with the main character.
8. Angel Beats!
Death is one of many mysteries that have baffled humanity since the dawn of time. Yuzuru Otonashi, 17, provides an immediate answer to the burning question of what happens to the soul after death. He discovers the unsettling truth of the afterlife after waking up in a dimension between life and death with no previous memories.
This odd dimension, shaped like a high school, is intended to house those who died too soon. Students at the school, feeling betrayed by God during their earthly lives, have formed the Afterlife Battlefront, a rebellious faction determined to oppose Kanade “Angel” Tachibana, their god-like student council president. Yuri Nakamura, the group’s leader, recruits Otonashi in their fight against Angel in order to gain control of their own lives. In contrast, Otonashi questions the morality of their actions and goes behind enemy lines to learn about the other side of their shared fate.
The plot unfolds haphazardly; some episodes teach you various things about the world, while others… don’t. The art is breathtaking, and the film is a delight to watch. It’s one of those shows that, with each episode, leaves you wanting more.
7. Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)
Yukiteru Amano, a loner high school student, discovers that his cell phone can predict the future in Mirai Nikki. Soon after, he finds himself in a lethal survival game with 11 other people, each of whom has a “Future Diary.” As the game progresses, the contestants fight to survive and eliminate each other in order to be the last one standing.
It’s a psychological thriller anime about a death game to become the ultimate ruler of the universe, complete with a psychotic yandere stalker girl.
6. Wonder Egg Priority
Ai Ooto is left to deal with her new reality after her best and only friend, Koito Nagase, commits suicide. With nothing else to live for, she is persuaded by a mysterious entity to purchase an egg, specifically a Wonder Egg.
Ai is tasked with saving people from adversity after breaking the egg in a world that appears during her sleep. She believes that by doing so, she is one step closer to saving her best friend. With this perilous yet alluring opportunity in her hands, Ai enters a world where she must recognise the link between the demons of others and her own.
A young girl discovers the various inner struggles tormenting humanity and rescues them from their worst fears as past trauma, unforgettable regrets, and innate fears hatch in the bizarre world of Wonder Egg Priority.
5. Perfect Blue
For the past two years, CHAM!, a Japanese idol group, has been entertaining its fans. All good things must come to an end, and one of CHAM!’s members, Mima Kirigoe, will depart to pursue her acting career. Mima’s decision has elicited mixed reactions, but she remains hopeful that her fans will continue to support her.
Mima’s life, on the other hand, drastically changes after she leaves the group. To shed her pop-idol image, she takes on a role in a crime drama series, and her acting career becomes increasingly demanding and taxing for both Mima and her manager, Rumi Hidaka. An obsessed fan begins stalking Mima, unable to accept that Mima is no longer an innocent idol; a new anonymous website begins meticulously impersonating her life; and CHAM! appears to be doing better without her. With each disturbing development, Mima becomes more deranged and unable to distinguish between reality and fantasy.
4. Fractale
Fractale takes place in a world where rules are blindly followed and life is blissful as long as religion reigns supreme and daily prayers are offered.
Clain, the protagonist, is visited by a mysterious girl who leaves behind another mysterious girl named Nessa.
The first bad guys in this anime are bumbling idiots with stupid plans to kidnap Nessa.
The anime then takes off like a rocket. It has it all: fighting, corruption, bloodshed, death, and extortion.
3. Made in Abyss
The Abyss is a chasm stretching deep into the earth’s core, teeming with mysterious creatures and ancient relics. What caused it to occur? What is it at the very bottom? Divers, or daring individuals, have attempted to solve the Abyss’ mysteries by plunging fearlessly into its darkest depths. Those who stay on the surface regard the White Whistles as the best and bravest of the Divers.
Riko, the abducted White Whistle Lyza the Annihilator’s daughter, wishes to follow in her mother’s footsteps and explore the depths of the Abyss. As a new Red Whistle, she is only allowed to explore the top layer. Despite this, Riko by chance encounters a mysterious robot dressed as a young boy. Reg’s name is Reg, and he has no recollection of the events that led up to his discovery. Certain that the technology used to create Reg must have originated deep within the Abyss, the two decide to venture into the chasm in order to recover his memories and see for themselves the depths of the great pit.

Yuki Takeya, a carefree high school junior, looks forward to the School Living Club every day. Yuuri Wakasa, the president, Kurumi Ebisuzawa, the mature Miki Naoki, Megumi Sakura, the supervising teacher, and Taroumaru, the club dog, all take pride in making the most of their school life. All members of the club must follow one rule: they must spend their entire lives on school grounds.
Gakkougurashi! follows the School Living Club’s adventures as they promote independence and self-determination at Megurigaoka Private High School.
1. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki are ordinary middle school girls who live ordinary lives until they meet Kyuubey, a magical familiar in the shape of a cat, and Homura Akemi, a new transfer student.
