MADHOUSE is one of the best animation studios to date, and they were at the top of the industry until 2010, when they began to decline. Regardless, they consistently produce spectacular anime.
You’re in luck if you’ve seen a MADHOUSE anime or heard about it from a friend. Prepare to see some of MADHOUSE studio’s best and greatest anime.
Best MADHOUSE Anime!
13. Black Lagoon

Rokuro Okajima is a salaryman who lives an ordinary life until he is attacked by a gang of thugs on the ship one day. When he is kidnapped, his colleagues betray him by placing greater importance on the documents he was carrying.
His former life appears to be ruined, and the kidnappers appear to be friendly. He decides to join them as a mercenary without much thought. What kind of life does he have in store for him?
Black Lagoon is a fantastic anime, and entrusting its adaptation to MADHOUSE studio is an excellent decision. Flying bullets, flawless action scenes, and extremely detailed animation.
The cast of characters is quite diverse (black, white, asian, Chinese, etc.) The soundtracks are also excellent, and it has one of the best dubs, allowing you to watch in your preferred language.
12. Chihayafuru

Chihaya Ayase is a popular and attractive student at her school. She and two friends developed an unconditional love for a card game called Karuta when she was in elementary school (Arata and Taichi).
When they finished elementary school, they resolved to excel in the game and compete in the national championships. When they reunite in high school, only Chihaya appears to be keeping the promise.
Chihayafuru is a fantastic Josei anime with stunning animation. MADHOUSE transforms any anime into a work of art. This anime is no exception in that regard.
The characters are the best part of the anime. Although it leans a little more on the love triangle side, it was fantastic in every way. You should watch this MADHOUSE anime if you haven’t already.
11. Nana

After a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend, Nana Komatsu departs for Tokyo. On her journey, she meets a girl named Nana Osaki, who appears to be cool and a punk rocker.
They become close, and after arriving in Tokyo, they end up sharing an apartment. While Komatsu strives for independence, Osaki pursues her dream. They learn about love, loss, and how life changes in the process.
Nana takes a very realistic approach to romance and friendship, which is uncommon. The studio did the animation justice by keeping the design as realistic as possible.
The voice acting is fantastic, and it shines even brighter during the narrative moments. Overall, Nana is an anime that makes you nostalgic every time you watch it.
10. The Tatami Galaxy

The plot revolves around a man who is unhappy and dissatisfied with his life. His social life is stagnant, he has no girlfriends, and his only friend keeps him in trouble.
He tries to relive his first two years of college by making different choices each time, but he has no recollection of it. Will he ever be happy with his life?
MADHOUSE has done it once more! This visually appealing anime, like No Game No Life, is a one-of-a-kind work of art from the studio. Even if it appears to be another school romance anime with humour, you will remember it for a long time.
Personally, I thought this anime was flawless and deserving of the title of “best anime show in years.” If you haven’t seen this MADHOUSE studio anime yet, you should do so soon.
9. One Outs

Baseball legend Kojima won numerous awards, including rookie of the year seven times in a row. But he never won the championship, not even once.
To make his dream a reality, he establishes a training camp in the Okinawa region. He meets talented Toua Tokuchi there, who states a condition before joining: instead of a salary, he’ll get five million yen for each out and lose fifty million if he loses a point.
You’re mistaken if you think One Outs is just another baseball anime. It’s more of a gambling/high stakes anime that will leave you speechless! Every single minute.
If I may say so, the main character is a genius and quite daring. MADHOUSE did an excellent job with this anime, and if you decide to watch it, be prepared to binge-watch it in a single day.
8. No Game No Life

Sora and Shiro are brilliant gamers who have never failed a challenge or game and are known as “BLANK.” When they receive an anonymous invitation to play a game, they accept it.
When they win, they are both transported to a world full of games. Apparently, the character they were portraying was the god of this world. Why were they summoned to this world? Is there any better world out there for gamers?
MADHOUSE is known for coming up with unique ideas, and this anime was no exception. This anime’s animation is one-of-a-kind and unforgettable. The vibrant colours, character designs, and high quality reflect the studio’s hard work.
This anime contains fanservice, but it is brilliant. Every episode makes you wonder what will happen next, and don’t forget to watch the movie after the anime.
7. Parasyte: The Maxim

On a fateful day, alien parasites enter the human world, attempting to take control of the unfortunate hosts they encounter. Shinji, fortunately, stops a parasite, which then takes his arm as a host.
Soon, he realises the parasite’s true power, but great power comes with great responsibility. How will he deal with hostile parasites and keep people safe from them?
Parasyte is one of those anime shows that will never leave my top ten list. Despite the fact that the synopsis suggests that this anime is intended to be a horror type, it is a beautiful anime.
The message it conveys, the action it depicts, the characters it makes you care about, and the way it makes you fall in love with anime at the end are all astounding.
6. Hellsing Ultimate

Alucard is a vampire and the top dog of the Hellsing organisation who specialises in vampire hunting. Vampire bites turn people into ghouls, but Seras Victoria strikes gold and becomes Alucard’s servant.
They had to deal with the nefarious activities of vampires across England in collaboration with the Hellsing organisation. However, as the secrets are revealed, a full-fledged war may erupt. What will transpire?
Although several other studios were involved in creating this masterpiece, I believe MADHOUSE played a significant role in it. That isn’t just an assumption because the studio’s work process is depicted in the anime.
You do not need to watch the Hellsing anime that comes before this one. This one will suffice, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out on something incredible.
5. Death Note

Light Yagami happens to find a notebook dropped by a shinigami in the human world. They will die if their name is written in the book.
Mastermind Light wishes to make the world a better place by eliminating criminals, but he soon encounters a brilliant detective who attempts to apprehend him. How will the story conclude?
Death Note is one of the most amazing and brilliant animes ever created. It was my first official anime (excluding Dragon Ball, Doraemon, Beyblade, and other childhood favourites).
The mind games are on another level, and each episode leaves you speechless. I mean, how can a writer come up with such a great idea for a script?
4. Hajime no Ippo

Ippo Makunochi has never had an easy life because he considers himself a loser. He is constantly beaten up by bullies, and this is about to happen again when an upcoming boxer named Takamura comes to his rescue.
Ippo decides to become a boxer from this point forward, but can pure passion help? There are many obstacles before he can dream of becoming champion, and dedication is the least of them.
Hajime no Ippo enthrals the audience with insane and jaw-dropping twists, and the narration heightens the experience. The main character attempts to go from being a nobody to being the strongest rookie boxer, and the story is as gripping as it gets.
It has an endless supply of twists to make each fight unique in its own way, and you don’t see anime of this calibre every day. So, without further ado, sit back and enjoy this spectacular MADHOUSE anime.
3. Redline

Redline takes place in a world where hover cars shine and ordinary wheeled vehicles are obsolete; racers live for a single purpose: to win the “Redline” race. In a race, anything can happen, including dirty tactics.
JP has previously lost the Yellow line race, and he is now determined to win at any cost. But it appears that everything, including rebuilding his car, the Roboworld government attempting to halt the race, and the insane competition, will be strictly enforced.
So, while this anime doesn’t have the best story, its main strength is its animation. MADHOUSE did an excellent job with the visuals and character designs. Seriously, I wouldn’t expect anything less after seven years of hand-drawn animation.
It’s a strange film with a lot of differences from the other MADHOUSE anime we’ve seen so far. Regardless, it will be an unforgettable experience for you.
2. One Punch Man

The story takes place in a world full of superheroes, villains, mutants, and thugs. Saitama has become a hero for the sake of having his life constantly tested by powerful villains.
However, due to his superior strength, he defeats every opponent with a single punch. He soon becomes bored with his life and looks forward to the day when he will find a worthy opponent. Will he ever find a formidable opponent?
One Punch Man has been a newcomer anime for a long time, and while I believe it is a little overrated, it is a fantastic anime produced by MADHOUSE studio.
It’s hilarious, well-paced, and the action scenes are pretty awesome, and the studio totally nailed the animation by maintaining consistency in quality.
1. Hunter x Hunter

Gon Freecs embarks on a journey from Whale Island to find his father, who abandoned him the moment he was born, in an adventure-filled world filled with terrifying creatures and unknown mysteries.
His father is one of the world’s most famous hunters and is regarded as a hero. But, in order to reach him, Gon must overcome numerous obstacles, the least of which is becoming a hunter.
Are we sure we want to go through this? It is unnecessary to describe how epic this anime is because it is one of the best anime of all time. The story, characters, pace, intense moments, epic battles, and every other aspect are flawless.
You get hooked right from the beginning, and if you haven’t watched this MADHOUSE anime yet, you ought to do it sooner or later.
Conclusive Thoughts!
Regardless of how many studios exist in the industry, they all create anime shows in the same way. Certainly, MADHOUSE stands out because it does not follow the same pattern as every other anime.
So, no matter which MADHOUSE anime you watch, you’ll notice a few differences from previous ones. We hope you enjoy these suggestions. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.
