High school days are enjoyable in both real life and anime (at least for the majority of the people). Anime depicts high school in the most realistic and exciting way.
So, if you’re looking for some great high school anime, whether romantic or comedic, we’ve got you covered. Let’s get you on the bus!
Best High School Anime!
13. School Days

Makoto fell in love with Kotonoha at first sight on a train on a faithful day. Makoto got closer to her without breaking a sweat thanks to his classmate’s nosy personality.
They begin dating soon after, but he isn’t the only one who is in love with her. Any horny teen would die for her, and all of these events put their relationship to the ultimate test.
School Days is an anime that depicts youth by infusing it with malice, deception, hatred, and other emotions. What realism!
This isn’t some passionate and innocent romance anime, and while it isn’t for everyone, it succeeds in portraying school life in the most realistic way possible.
12. K-On!!

Joining a club is one of the most exciting things a new high school student can do. Yui Hirasawa is starting her new high school year, and she appears to be torn between joining a club and joining a music club.
But, because she lacks talent, she decides to apologise and leave. Because their club is in trouble, they play her a song as a last resort to keep her there. So, Yui has a new life ahead of her, and how will it go?
These types of anime always bring out the silliest in us. Although the story isn’t particularly memorable, it does contribute significantly. Its main theme is music, but it has a high school anime vibe to it.
If you haven’t seen a slow-burning and pleasant school life anime in a while, this might make up for what you’ve been missing.
11. Hyouka

Houtaru Oreki is such an energy conservationist that he doesn’t do much, and when he does, he prefers it to be done quickly. However, at his sister’s request, he later joins a Classics Club.
Then he meets a curious girl named Chitanda, and his life is forever changed. Oreki becomes engrossed in the investigation of club-related mysteries.
Hyouka is one of those rare anime series that immediately piques your interest. School club, mysteries, heavy romantic undertones, and everything else you could want from a high school anime.
The animation is simply stunning (after all, it is from Kyoto Animation). The characters are endearing, and the plot is decent. But even you wouldn’t know why you like this anime.
10. Silver Spoon

Yuugo Hachiken is a hard worker, but he falls short of others’ expectations. To escape his parents’ stress, he enrols in Ooezo Agricultural High School in the countryside.
However, when he meets his talented friends who grew up with foods, vegetables, and livestock, he realises that he is only a novice in this field. Maybe he’ll find his dream here.
Silver Spoon is an inspiring high school anime because it shows that everyone has the ability to chart their own course, and all they have to do is keep trying.
I’ve never seen an anime in which a city boy is assigned to a farming school. The concept is novel, and the characters elevate the anime to new heights.
9. Tsuki ga Kirei

As the new students gather in the final year class of junior high, an aspiring novelist Kotaru Azumi meets a track team member Akane Mizuno.
A few encounters between them stir feelings in their hearts, and despite being in a love zone, they are unsure of their true feelings. What is the outcome?
While school life anime shows explore a variety of genres such as magic, food, and the supernatural, Tsuki ga Kirei stands out for its simplicity.
It lacks a deep or complex plot that makes it stand out, but it is a fantastic school life anime with genuine relationships, and it is the new high school anime you’ll love today.
8. Kaguya-sama: Love is War?

Kaguya and Miyuki are top students who also serve on the student council. Although it appears to be boring at first, they both have feelings for each other, making it more enjoyable.
However, due to their pride, neither can propose first. They both, however, have plans and schemes to force the other to confess first. Who will win this game?
This is a fantastic anime. You have bombastic personalities on top of the great visual comedy, and the narration on the show is simply marvellous.
The schemes they employ are always hilarious, and we also have some lovey-dovey moments. Overall, it perfectly captures and portrays the essence of high school life.
7. Toradora

Ryuuji Takasu, a gentle high schooler who enjoys housework, has a delinquent face that contrasts with his personality. And his plans to confess his feelings to Minori Kushieda, his crush.
Taiga Aisaka, on the other hand, is a doll-like, adorable student known as the school’s Palmtop Tiger. When these two happen to cross paths, they assist each other on a single mission. But what is their future?
Toradora is a lovely and cheerful romantic comedy anime with a high school theme. Even if you only like action/sci-fi/adventure movies, you’ll enjoy this one.
The characters are fantastic, the plot avoids all cliches, and the romance is simply fantastic. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should do so right now.
6. ReLIFE

Arata Kaizaki is a hopeless person who has given up his job, but it appears that his life took a turn when he met Ryou Yoake, a member of the ReLife Research Institute.
She gives him a pill that transports him back ten years to his freshman year of high school. Although he gets to relive his school days, the new rules prevent him from catching up.
ReLIFE is an anime that has the potential to influence a large number of people. Most people are frequently confronted with the same reality as Arata in the anime, and they always regret it. Of course, almost all of them wish to relive those idyllic school days.
To summarise, it’s a well-written story with endearing characters and excellent animation. You’ll want more after finishing the episodes, and you won’t be able to get enough of it.
5. Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School is a place for extremely wealthy students, but Haruhi is talented but not wealthy. But one day, she drops an eight million yen vase in a host club’s music room.
This club is made up of young and attractive men whose main goal is to entertain the girls at the academy. Haruhi joins the club to pay their debt and discovers a whole new world.
First and foremost, I adored Haruhi’s character because she is so endearing and relatable. Her sarcasm is charming, and her unafraid questioning makes her a more interesting character.
It doesn’t have a mind-blowing plot, but it is hilarious and always leaves you feeling good at the end of each episode.
4. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Kusuo Saiki is your average high school student looking for a peaceful life. But he has psychic powers, which he only uses when absolutely necessary, and he is constantly in trouble as a result of them.
Saiki is always engrossed in the activities of strange Kaido, beautiful Teruhashi, and idiot Nendou. Can Saiki ever get away from her strange and amusing classmates?
This anime is far too amusing, on par with Gintama (in terms of comedy). Every character in the show is so absurd that you can’t stop laughing until your stomach hurts.
It not only shows you beautiful school life moments, but it also has a lot of hilarious ones. Everyone who enjoys school life comedy anime should watch this.
3. Great Teacher Onizuka

Onizuka is a 22-year-old teacher who, surprisingly, received poor grades in school. To add to the surprise, he has previously led a motorcycle gang.
But why did he decide to become a teacher? Is it to educate the young lads or to look up the skirts of high school girls? On the other hand, the school’s delinquent students appear to dislike this new teacher.
This anime is a classic that perfectly captures the essence of a high school theme. It’s both hilarious and inspiring, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Overall, it’s an exciting ride filled with ecchi, good drama, and great romance. So, if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out.
2. Haikyuu!!

Hinata Shoyo is short, but he has big dreams. He wanted to be like the little giant (the volleyball player’s nickname) ever since he saw him score in the national championship.
He manages to enter the competition despite his lightning reflexes and crow-like jumps, but he is easily crushed. Later, in the same high school, he meets the King of the Court and embarks on an epic journey.
Haikyuu!! is a sports-themed high school anime. Friendship, rivalry, amusing interactions, high school boys, and some emotional moments are all present. Overall, the setting is ideal for the high school anime genre.
Apart from being a high school, Haikyuu is a fantastic sports anime that depicts volleyball on a whole new level. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should do so at any cost.
1. Orange

Naho Takamiya is about to start her first day of high school when she awakens to find a strange letter from the future herself. Although she was initially sceptical, a few more letters proved her wrong.
Naho’s life is full of regrets, according to the letter, and she hopes that the younger Naho will correct the mistakes. It appears to be related to Kakeru Naruse, a new transfer student.
This is my all-time favourite high school romance anime. It focuses on the connection between the characters rather than on romance.
Without any fan service, the romance feels genuine and realistic. If you have ever wished for or missed a beautiful school life, you must watch this anime right now.
Let’s Conclude!
That is an impressive list (in fact, a list you can never say no to). If you’re looking for some good high school anime, this list may be just what you’re looking for.
