If you’re unfamiliar with the term, Manhwas are the Korean equivalent of Manga from South Korea. Manhwas, as opposed to Japanese manga, are typically coloured and only available online.
Among the various genres, action is without a doubt the most popular. So much so that translation teams are inundated with new action/fantasy manhwas all the time.
So, in this post, we’ll go over 16 amazing action manhwa and where you can read them.
Best Action Manhwa
15. FFF-Class Trashero
Kin Han Soo, the protagonist, is returned to Earth after successfully killing the fantasy world’s demon king. When he returns, the god of the fantasy world appears, accompanied by Han Soo’s report card. As a result of removing all obstacles in his path to killing the demon king, Han Soo’s personality score is revealed to be an F. As a result, he is returned to the beginning of the fantasy world and must start over.
The protagonist is not your typical isekai; he’s comedically ruthless, the plot is entertaining, and the art style is stunning. Overall, it’s a lighthearted manhwa with a MC who defies every isekai rule in the book. I strongly advise you to read it.
FFF-Class Trashero is available for free reading at BiliBili Comics.
14. The Return of the Frozen Player
The world faced disaster five years ago when monsters that humanity couldn’t handle appeared. The Frost Queen, a logic-defying boss monster who could freeze the Pacific Ocean with a single wave of her hand, was feared by all.
However, the Frost Queen was defeated by humanity’s five greatest heroes (Top Players), including Seo “Specter” Jun-ho…
The five of them, however, froze after the frost queen was defeated. Specter, however, unexpectedly broke through the ice 25 years later, and now “there’s a second floor?!”
The Return of the Frozen Player, unlike many other dungeon novels, takes its time developing a world, powers, and characters.
Its premise is fairly generic, and I wish they had paid more attention to the side characters, but it’s a fun read that I recommend.
The Return of the Frozen Player is available for free reading on Reaper Scans.
13. God of Blackfield
‘Kang Chan,’ the French Foreign Legion legend! During the African war, his opponents referred to him as the “God of Blackfield,” the “God of the Black Land,” and he terrified and awed them. Kang Chan, on the other hand, was killed in action by an unknown bullet fired from behind him while on a mission to assassinate Masallan, the brains behind the Sunni support group SISS. As his vision blurred, he saw his thirteen team members, all of whom had complete faith in him, being killed one by one. Kang Chan was about to die after being shot by a traitor when he was saved by an unknown force and awoke three years later in South Korea.
He was, however, in the body of another ‘Kang Chan,’ a 19-year-old high school bully. Kang Chan’s quest to exact vengeance on the traitor and learn the truth about his rebirth begins right now!
God of Blackfield is, in my opinion, one of the best manhwas I’ve read; I’m not usually a fan of anything other than fantasy, but I really enjoyed reading this one. You should definitely investigate it.
Reaper Scans offers free reading of God of Blackfield.
12. Nano Machine
Cheon Yeo-Woon, a Demonic Cult orphan, receives an unexpected visit from his descendant from the future, who inserts a “nano machine” into Cheon Yeo-Woon’s body, which, once activated, drastically changes Cheon Yeo-Woon’s life. Cheon Yeo-journey Woon’s quest to become the best martial artist while avoiding the Demonic Cult is just getting started.
Nano Machine features a badass MC who doesn’t take crap from others and has no mercy for his enemies while being gentle with his subordinates. The art style and fight scenes are both excellent.
Nano Machine is available for free on Reaper Scans.
11. Mercenary Enrollment
Yu Ijin, our main character, was the sole survivor of a plane crash when he was a child. He returns to his hometown to see his family after becoming a mercenary to survive for ten years.
In comparison to the other manhwas’ levelling systems, swords and magic, and constellations, the story is quite unique. Even without all of that, the MC is still far too powerful, and the artwork is quite good. It is similar to The God of Blackfield. Overall, I highly recommend Mercenary Enrollment as a fun read.
Reaper Scans is giving away Mercenary Enrollment for free.

Daniel is an ugly loner who is constantly bullied and abused, but one day he wakes up in a different body. Daniel, now taller, more attractive, and cooler than ever in his new form, intends to accomplish everything he couldn’t before. How far will he go to protect his body… and his secrets?
Lookism is fantastic, but it drags at times and has a lot of filler. Nonetheless, it’s fantastic. Furthermore, Netflix recently announced an anime adaptation. So keep your eyes peeled for that as well.
Lookism is available for free on Webtoons.com.
9. Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World
Ryu Han-Bin was a regular guy who had just finished his mandatory military service when he was abducted and transported to another world. He was abandoned in a desolate world teeming with monsters, with the goal of survival and growth. The problem is that the ‘Guideline,’ which was supposed to be his survival guide, is littered with typos.
I highly recommend Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World if you’re looking for an isekai with a good plot, comedy, and fight scenes.
The plot is incredible, the art is incredible, the characters are incredible, and this manhwa is truly incredible.
On Luminous Scans, you can read The Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World for free.
8. A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special
The Shadow Labyrinth is the most dreadful place humanity has ever encountered. Desir Arman is one of the remaining six human survivors. The world ends when the six attempt but fail to complete the final level of the labyrinth.
However, just as Desir is about to die, the world reveals itself to him… thirteen years ago?! Desir is transported back in time to when he enrolled at Havrion, the nation’s most prestigious magical academy. He’s reunited with long-lost friends and is ready to change history in order to save the world and his loved ones…!
The Shadow World will be here in three years! Will Desir be able to gather a formidable army and save the world?
With each arc, the fights in this manhwa become more exciting, and the art is quite good. Furthermore, the story is intriguing, and the “dungeons” of this work differ from those of other manhwas.
TappyToon is giving away a free copy of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special.
Jiwoo is a kind-hearted young man who secretly uses a cat’s lightning-quick reflexes to improve the world one saved child or foster pet at a time. Kayden is a fugitive secret agent imprisoned in the body of a…um…extremely fat old fluffy cat. Armed with Jiwoo’s superpowers and Kayden’s superintelligence, they set out to combat the forces that would allow evil to rule the world. That is, if they can stand each other long enough to finish the task.
The plot is fantastic, the characters feel natural, and the art style is fantastic as well. Simply read it! You will not be let down.

6. Damn Reincarnation
Hamel is a warrior who joined his colleagues on a mission to exterminate the demon kings. Unfortunately, he died just as the battle with the most powerful of the demon kings was about to begin. After dying, he was reborn as the descendant of his colleague, the hero Vermouth. Hamel is a descendant of the illustrious Vermouth family. No, his name had been changed to Eugene Lionhart. By transitioning from a dying body to a new body, he has accomplished something he did not have in his previous life. And then there’s reincarnation, and the reality of coexisting with demons. In this new world, everything is suspect. In Eugene’s body, his unfinished business from his previous life resurfaces.
The main character is endearing, the supporting characters are fantastic, and the plot, while resembling some typical reincarnation and demon vs hero scenarios, is fantastic. So far, I’m having fun with it.
Damn Reincarnation can be read for free on Asura Scans.
5. Academy’s Undercover Professor
He hadn’t been reborn with talent or ability, but his earthly knowledge kept him one step ahead of the game in this other world. While science advanced rapidly, magic remained stagnant in the name of tradition. By using his earthly knowledge and not being bound by traditional thinking, he was able to do things that other wizards couldn’t even imagine. Nonetheless, becoming an undercover professor for a mysterious secret society (accidentally) at the prestigious Sören academy was not on his bucket list!
This manhwa is quite good; it is about a man who is reincarnated in another world. He rose to prominence under several pen names, including Gerrard and Machiavelli. Ludger Cherish, a young and talented professor at the prestigious Soren Academy, is his most recent alter ego. However, what appears to be a straightforward teaching position proves to be anything but.
This manhwa is packed with action and comedy, and the artwork is stunning. There hasn’t been any indication of a romantic interest, but I’m not sure if that will change in the future. I strongly recommend that you read it.
Academy’s Undercover Professor is available for free reading on Reaper Scans.
4. Solo Leveling
At number four, we have Solo Leveling, which, unless you live under a rock, you have almost certainly heard of, if not read about.
The plot revolves around Sung Jin-Woo, a young man who is a low-level E-rank hunter. However, everything changes after he survives a deadly situation in a mysterious dungeon. After completing quests assigned to him by the system, he receives a ‘System’ that aids him in ‘Leveling Up.’ So, at its core, this is a story about a weak guy who becomes the only person in his world who can continue to grow stronger indefinitely.
An anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has also been announced, with the show set to premiere in 2023.
Solo Leveling is available to buy on Amazon. It is also available to read for free on Asura Scans.
3. The Beginning After The End
In a world ruled by martial prowess, King Grey possesses unrivalled strength, wealth, and prestige. Those in positions of great power, on the other hand, must deal with isolation. The shell of man, devoid of purpose and will, lurks beneath the glamorous exterior of a powerful king. The king has been reincarnated into a new world filled with magic and monsters, giving him new life.
However, correcting his past mistakes will not be his only challenge. Underneath the new world’s peace and prosperity is an undercurrent threatening to destroy everything he has worked for, calling into question his role and reason for being born again.
I know what you’re thinking, but this manhwa was inspired by Mushoku Tensei, and no, none of the weird stuff is in it. The beginning is similar to Mushoku Tensei (except for the weird stuff), but the ending is entirely different.
The world-building, characters, and art are all excellent, and the main character is an absolute badass. Make sure to read this one; it’s incredible.
The Beginning After The End is available to buy on Amazon. You can also read it for free up until chapter 25 on Tapas.
2. SSS-Class Suicide Hunter
Kim Gong-ja lives in the mysterious, RPG dungeon-like Tower, envious of all the star hunters. One day, his wish is granted when he gains the legendary ability to imitate the abilities of others… at the cost of his life.
The top hunter, the Flame Emperor, kills him before he can make sense of it! This, however, activates his ability, and he has now copied a new one, the ability to return to a previous time after death. How will Kim Gong-ja use his abilities to outwit his opponents and rise to the top?
SSS-Class Suicide Hunter is an excellent power fantasy/dungeon-based manhwa with a unique story that distinguishes it from other manhwas in this genre.
The plot is incredible, and our main character’s power is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Because of the various quests and environments created in the tower, the lore is absolutely incredible.
The artwork is fantastic, with each background, scenario, environment, and character unique. The side characters’ designs are equally memorable and cool.
All of the characters are well-developed and have distinct goals and objectives. I like the murim-based floor and the two characters who live on it. (That’s all I’m going to say without giving anything away.) But, as a novel reader, I can assure you that the next arc will be absolutely fantastic!
Overall, it’s a lot of fun to read, and it’s also one of my favourite manhwas of all time, so I highly recommend it.
SSS-Class Suicide Hunter is free to read on Reaper Scans.
1. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
Dokja was your average office worker, spending his free time reading his favourite web novel, ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.’ However, if the novel comes true, he will be the only one who knows how the world will end. Dokja applies his newfound knowledge to change the course of the story and the world as he knows it.
I’ve seen people praise Solo Leveling online, and I know it’s good because I enjoy it as well. However, the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, in my humble opinion, is far superior.
The plot is intriguing and only becomes more so with all of the world-building that occurs, and the characters, man, they are all so freaking awesome! It’s one of my favourite manhwa/webtoons of all time, and I highly recommend reading it.
The Omniscient Reader’s Point of View is available for free on Flame Scans.
BONUS: Kill the Hero
One day, the world was transformed into a game. ‘Dungeons’ and’monsters,’ as well as ‘players’ with godly authority, appeared in the middle of cities.
The Messiah Guild’s guild master, Se-jun Lee, would bring salvation to the world. “Let us band together to save the world and put an end to this nightmare.”
The arrival of the hero brought joy to the entire world, and I became his comrade. But… He was neither a hero nor a messiah, but the entire world adored him. He was a cunning hero who harboured a secret desire to rule the world. “You did an excellent job. I couldn’t have come up until now without your help.”
I thought I died at his blade in the previous dungeon. The announcement I heard as I died, right next to my ear. [The game begins.]
I went back in time to when I hadn’t yet awakened as a player. And now it’s my turn…… To ‘hunt’ him down.
Kill the Hero is available for free reading on Reaper Scans.
