Mob Psycho is one of the most well-known new-gen anime. Fans all over the world adore it. This show has it all: mesmerising animation, incredible fight sequences, and insane character development.
Furthermore, it is Studio Bones’ favourite anime as well. As a result, the editor and animation team put in extra effort. It’s no surprise that it never lacks in terms of animation.
The plot revolves around a teenager named Kageyama Shigeo, also known as Mob. Mob is a type of Esper. He had this unique ability since birth and had always wondered why he was different from others. He despised using his powers and desired to live a normal life.
The story continues as we see him trying to figure out who he is and what his life’s purpose is. This show will teach you some extremely valuable life lessons.
In this blog, we’ll look at the most powerful characters in Mob Psycho.
MOB PSYCHO CHARACTERS RANKED BY POWER!
|Special Power||Ki Manipulation|
Tsuchiya was a member of Scar’s Claw Upper Echelon. The scar represented a group of people who had challenged Ryo Shimazaki and lost. Their scar was essentially a testament to their worthiness. However, this scar was actually a sign that they would be disposed of after world dominance lol!
Tsuchiya possesses a one-of-a-kind ability to manipulate Ki. She can use Ki to strengthen and precisely use her muscles. She combines martial arts with this ability, making her extremely powerful!
She can also use her Qi to destroy things from within. If she punches a pillar, it will be destroyed from within. (Chapter 42 of Manga) Fifth Punch is the name of her special move. She paralyses an opponent with her first punch in this technique, then follows up with a series of Qi punches.
|Special Power||Mind Manipulation|
Muto is the fourteenth character on the list. He was a Scar from the upper echelon of the Claws. He stands out due to his unusual design. His personality is also a little off. He is unconcerned about what others think of him. He enjoys torturing others and is a COMPLETE SADISTIC!!
And, predictably, his psychic abilities are linked to torture. He can use his powers to enter people’s minds and show them some really bad situations, effectively torturing them into submission to his will. (Chapter 36 of Manga)
If used correctly, this ability is quite useful. He cannot, however, fight on the front lines because he lacks offensive moves.
13. Nozomu Hatori
|Special Power||Signal Manipulation|
The next character on this list is Nozumu Hatori. He is also a member of the Upper Echelon of the Ultimate 5 of Claws. Nozomu, like any other Ultimate 5 member, possesses incredible power and skills.
He is very proud of his status as an Ultimate 5 and constantly brags about it. Well! His abilities are not particularly suited to combat. He possesses a one-of-a-kind ability to control signals. Telekinesis is his most powerful ability. He has the ability to control planes, cars, and ships as if they were toys.
He can also disrupt electrical signals, making him a valuable backup. His abilities do not allow him to fight on the front lines, but he does so anyway. His technique’s adaptability is simply AMAZING!!! (Chapter 79 of Manga)
12. Hiroshi Shibata
|Special Power||Muscle Manipulation|
Hiroshi is a member of Claws Ultimate 5 and possesses exceptional abilities.
Hiroshi’s critical thinking and judgement skills are lacking. His attitude toward life is straightforward. I’m not sure how he ended up being a member of Ultimate 5.
Hiroshi, unlike other characters, relies on RAW POWER rather than telekinesis or other abilities. He does, however, use his psychic abilities. He can use them to bulk up his muscles. He basically commands his brain, which sends signals to his muscles to grow. His muscles swole, and he becomes INSANELY strong as a result. With a single punch, he was able to break through Dimple’s strongest defence. He is obviously not a true gym bro!! (Episode 10 of Season 2)
Well! He was defeated by Dimple while controlling Goda, who has actual muscle mass. GODA is an authentic GYM BRO!!
|Special Power||Taking over Bodies|
Dimple is the next character to make the list. Dimple is not one of the Espers. He is a spirit who appeared as a villain in the first season. He had established his own religion and even had some adherents. After a good beating from the mob, he changed his ways and began living with him. Well! Every now and then, he longs to realise his dream.
Dimple, as a spirit, has the unique ability to take over other people’s bodies and manipulate them as he pleases. Dimple was the one who controlled Ritsu’s body when he received his powers because Ritsu was unable to control his powers himself.
When he takes control of someone, the host’s physical abilities are greatly enhanced. Dimple is a competent hand-to-hand fighter, as evidenced by his fight with Keiji Mogami. Well! Mogami did manage to overpower him. (Chapter 8 of Manga)
|Special Powers||Spirit Possession|
The next character on this list is Matsuo. If we ignore his odd personality and design, he is quite powerful. He is a former member of the evil organisation Claw’s Scar division.
Let’s start with his abilities. Matsuo has the unique ability to capture and release spirits at will. Of course, in order to capture the spirits, he must first weaken them. He keeps them in a vessel and can use them whenever he wants.
He can also give them extra spiritual energy to help them grow stronger. (Chapter 65 of Mob Psycho) When he unleashed all of his spirits at once during the 7th division arc, we saw his true strength. (Episode 11 of Season 2)
His naming sense is also unusual. He names his spirits Cookie-Chan, Chocolate-Chan, Caramel-Chan, and, of course, Pudding-Chan. I suppose he just enjoys sweets.
9. Megumu Koyama
|Special Power||Telekinetic Helix|
Megumu Koyama, along with Mob and his brother, was one of the first Espers we encountered. He also belongs to Claws’ upper Echelon Scar. Simply put, he is a guy with no brain. He rushes into fights without regard for the fact that he is fighting a child.
Megumu is physically quite strong in terms of his abilities. His strength alone is sufficient to repel a swarm of high schoolers. However, when fighting Espers, he must use his Psychic abilities. He wraps them around his arms to further enhance his physical abilities.
His most powerful move Mob was knocked out by Telekinetic Helix. His fortitude is also no laughing matter. He was able to stand up even after fighting Kageyama. (Episode 8 of Season 1)
8. Sho Suzuki
|Special Power||Psychic Energy Storage|
Sho Suzuki is the next strongest character on this list. As the name suggests, he is the son of Toichiro Suzuki, the Claws boss and the final villain of the second season. He is a prodigy with incredible strength. Well! We all thought he was evil at first, but he turned out to be a good guy who just wanted to stop his father.
Let’s start with his abilities. Sho appears to be overconfident in his abilities. He thought hell could defeat his father on its own, but DAMNNN! He was mistaken. Sho, like his father, possesses the unique ability to store psychic power and unleash it at any time in the form of his most powerful attack, CHARGE BOMB.
He can also bend light and thus become invisible. Suzuki claimed after defeating him that Sho is even weaker than Shimazaki. (12th episode of Season 2)
7. Ritsu Kageyama
|Special Power||Raw Power|
The next character on this list is Ritsu Kageyama. He is Mob’s younger brother, Kageyama Shigeo. Unlike Mob, he only discovered his psychic abilities later in the series. He excels in both sports and academics.
Ritsu was unable to properly channel his psychic power at first and required Dimples’ assistance. However, as time passed, he gained greater control over his powers and no longer required Dimple’s assistance. He, like Mob, has an internal percentage, and at 100%, his powers rival Mob’s. However, he is unable to control it properly. (Chapter 100 of Manga)
6. Teruki Hanazawa
Teruki Hanazawa, a student at Black Pepper High School, is the series’ first main antagonist. He, like Sho, vastly overestimates his abilities. He appeared to believe that he was the main character in this world. However, Mob made him see the light and he became a GOOD GUY!!
Terukis psychic aura is yellow when it comes to his abilities. In terms of abilities and potential, he is one of the most powerful espers. In terms of raw power, however, he is nowhere near Mob or Toichiro Suzuki. He is one of the few espers who can use two abilities at the same time. (Chapter 78 of Manga) He is also a quick learner and can replicate any technique after seeing it a few times. He learned many techniques from various espers, including Terada’s Air Whips, Miyagawa’s Pyrokinesis, and Muraki’s Ethereal Bodies Technique.
His only download is a lack of raw power. He cannot compete with espers who have far more raw power.
5. Katsuya Serizawa
|Affiliation||Claw (Former) Mob|
|Special Power||Raw Power|
Mob has turned another antagonist into a hero in Katsuya Serizawa. He was previously a member of Claw and the Ultimate 5. He now works at Reigan’s Spirits and Such Consultation Office. He compares himself to Mob because both of them thought their powers were strange and wanted to get rid of them.
His psychic aura is purple, and, surprisingly, he wields an umbrella as a weapon. Well! Most espers do not use weapons. Serizawa can channel his energy through this umbrella, which he can use as a shield or whatever he wants. He can block Suzuki’s 3 percent attack with his umbrella. Suzuki regarded him as the Ultimate 5’s most powerful member (Manga Chapter 90)
He is quite skilled at using psychic abilities, as he can perform a variety of tasks such as watering plants, cleaning, and organising things.
4. Ryo Shimazaki
|Affiliation||Claw Ultimate 5|
|Special Power||Extrasensory perception|
Ryo Shimazaki is the next name on this list. Ryo also belongs to Claws Ultimate 5. After Toichiro Suzuki, he is unquestionably Claws’ most powerful member. Ryo is conceited and loud. Well! It makes sense because he is DAMNN STRONG!!
Let’s start with his abilities. Ryo is deafeningly deafeningly deafening He makes up for it, however, with his insane EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION, which allows him to avoid attacks and sense things from afar. He refers to this ability as the Minds Eye. Teleportation is his most powerful ability. Most people just blink and whoop because it is so fast! He’s no longer there. He can also transport items. Using this simple ability, he can overpower even stronger espers. (Episode 9 of Season 2)
However, his predictability is the only thing that makes him vulnerable. Teruki took advantage of his movements after they became too predictable. (Chapter 88 of Manga) And, like Teruki, he can use two different techniques at the same time.
3. Toichiro Suzuki
|Special Power||Psychic Energy Storage|
Toichiro Suzuki is the leader of Claw and their most powerful member. He is the main antagonist in the second season. He is conceited and self-centered. His sole ambition is to rule the world. He believes that the weak do not deserve to live, and that he will create a new world. He is emotionless, as he beats his own san without remorse.
Toichiros’ ability is comparable to Sho Suzuki’s. He can also store psychic power and use it when needed. He had been storing energy for over 20 years before launching his world dominance strategy (Manga Chapter 88). Except for Mob and Keiji Mogami, his abilities are literally unrivalled. The battle between him and Mob was the highlight of the second season.
He dominated Mob for the majority of the fight. However, he was defeated when his own powers completely backfired. Mob himself stated that even at full strength, he cannot beat him one-on-one.
Aside from Energy Storage, Toichiro has the unique ability to steal psychic energy from others and transform it into his own. He can also control all four elements, including Ice, Fire, Air, and Earth, as demonstrated during his fight with Sho (Manga Chapter 88) Aside from that, he is seen manipulating gravity (Manga Chapter 90)
2. Keiji Mogami
|Special Power||Raw Power|
Keiji Mogami is widely regarded as the ALL-TIME GREATEST ESPER. In the first season, he was one of the antagonists. He was a good person who helped others before transforming into a spirit. However, after his mother died, negativity began to build inside him, and he turned evil.
He exorcise Dimple, one of the most powerful high-level spirits, when he was alive. This was somewhat traumatic for me. Mogamis raw power is second only to Mob. Even though he claimed to be stronger than him, he was defeated by the Courage Mob.
Keiji Mogamis has the uncanny ability to drain the psychic powers of those around him (Manga Chapter 87). He can gain control of anyone as a spirit, significantly enhancing their physical abilities. He can also construct an artificial world within anyone in order to mentally torture them (Manga Chapter 67)
1. Kageyama Shigeo
|Special Power||Raw Power|
How can we leave Kageyama out of this blog? I mean, he’s the STRONGEST CHARACTER IN THE ENTIRE SERIES. His classmates refer to him as Mob. Kageyama, unlike his younger brother Ritsu, was born with psychic abilities. He seemed to think he was strange because he had never met another esper in his life. As a result, he despised his abilities.
I don’t feel the need to discuss his abilities. Mob’s main strength is his RAW POWER. Nonetheless, his productivity is affected by his mood. If he’s not feeling well, his abilities will suffer.
He, like Ritsu, has an internal percentage that changes depending on his mood. At times, his power level exceeds 100% and he becomes??! (Episode 5 of Season 2) What exactly does this mean? It basically means that his powers are limitless and that he is invincible in this form! Mob usually takes this form when he is extremely irritated or angry. He can also pass on his abilities to both normal humans and Espers. (Episode 12 of Season 1)
Mob defeated Keji Mogami and Toichiro Suzuki, so he more than deserves this spot.
So, here it is, guys. Mob Psycho is my favourite anime, and with the third season about to premiere, this blog was a must-read.
After this season, I’ll update the list. Until then, goodbye!!!
