Similarities:
- Both main characters inherit some strange power and are eventually hunted down.
- Both are exceptional fighters, though Denji is more fearsome and carefree.
- The artwork feels similar, and it is nearly identical during action sequences.
6. Devilman: Crybaby

Akira Fudo learns from his best friend that an ancient race of demons is returning to overthrow the human world. The only way to stop them is to join forces with one of them and absorb its powers.
He manages to take over a devil with his pure soul and has become a devilman. The battle between the demons and Akira Fudo to protect the world begins now.
Similarities:
- Both stories tell a dark story, and the action scenes are fantastic.
- The artwork is similar (not a lot because this is a really old manga).
- Fudo becomes a Devilman while Denji becomes a half-devil (which is almost the same).
5. Tokyo Ghoul

The story is set in Tokyo, where Ghouls and Humans coexist. These ghouls can only survive by preying on humans, and CCG exists to combat them.
Ken Kaneki goes on his first date with Rize, a beautiful woman who turns out to be a ghoul. Doctors save him after an incident by transplanting her organs into him, transforming him into a half-ghoul.
Similarities:
- Both of these manga have a dark theme and contain a lot of violence.
- In Chainsaw Man, Kaneki is forced to become a half-ghoul, while Denji becomes a half-devil.
- The artwork in both of these mangas is also very similar.
4. Jujutsu Kaisen

The story is set in a world where curses take physical form and harm humans. Jujutsu sorcerers put their lives on the line to combat them.
A normal high schooler eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, the king of curses, one day. Will he be able to control it and save people from strange curses? Or will he end up slaughtering the entire world?

- Both of these manga depict a dark story, though Jujutsu Kaisen takes a more humorous approach.
- The artwork is similar, and both focus on the action.
- In Chainsaw Man, Denji becomes a half-demon, while Itadori becomes a host for Sukuna.
3. Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku

Gabimaru the Hollow is known as one of Iwagakure village’s most vicious assassins. His efficiency is beyond ruthless, but a single betrayal results in his execution.
He now has only one hope: to find a long-lost island and recover the elixir that will make him immortal. However, heaven and hell are separated by a hair’s width on the island.
Similarities:
- Hell’s Paradise is part of a dark trio of this generation, along with Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen.
- Although there is less violence and a more bizarre plot in this one, it feels very similar.
- The artwork is similar, and the main characters are always ruthless.
2. Dorohedoro

The city of Hole is teeming with insane sorcerers who sacrifice innocent people to test their abilities. Kaiman becomes a reptilian man after being cursed by a sorcerer.
Without any memories, he sets out on a journey to find the person who created him in this state. He is not alone, however, as his companion Nikaido assists him in everything.
Similarities:
- Both feature gory and grotesque scenes, complete with violence.
- The lives of both main characters change and are left unsolved.
- Both feature a dark plot and a strong emphasis on action.
- Both feature similar artwork and plots.
1. Fire Punch

The story takes place in a world ravaged by ice and snow as a result of an elusive Ice Witch. Agni and Luna are orphans with regenerative abilities who treat each other as brothers and sisters.
Doma, the army commander, incinerates the entire village one day, leaving them alive. After a decade, Agni sets out on a mission to avenge him while also searching for Luna.
Similarities:
- Both of these mangas contain graphic violence.
- Both follow the same path of vengeance and depict the characters’ mental breakdowns.
- Tatsuki Fujimoto, the same author, wrote both.
