The Demon Slayer anime adaptation has twelve Demon Moons who are the strongest, chosen by Muzan Kibutsuji himself and are under his direct command, which we call Demon Slayer Twelve Kizuki!
These demons are extremely powerful because they are fed Muzan’s blood, which increases their power and allows them to use Blood Demon Art. The twelve moons, or kizukis, are divided into two groups of six members each: the Upper Ranks and the Lower Ranks.
Lower Ranks have their numbers engraved in one eye, whereas Upper Ranks have their number in one eye and the Upper Rank kanji in the other. The Upper Rank are the most powerful, and power decreases as the numbers assigned decrease.
Demon Slayer Twelve Kizuki/Moons Ranked!
THE UPPER RANKS
Kaigaku (The Upper Moon Six)

After Daki and Gyutaro were defeated in the Entertainment Arc, Kaigaku took their place. Formerly a Demon Slayer and Zenitsu’s senior, he studied under Thunder Hashira Jigoro Kuwajima.
He is a coward and opportunist who, after losing to Upper Rank One, was willing to transform into a demon in order to survive. Kaigaku’s Blood Demon Art is Electrokinesis, which allows him to control and manipulate lethal electricity at will.
Gyokko (The Upper Moon Five)

Gyokko is the most narcissistic of the twelve and is offended when his art and craft are mocked. This grotesque demon has small hands across his back.
Three green mouths replace the eyes, which are vertically positioned on his face. When necessary, Gyokko can revert to his original form, which improves all of his abilities and allows him to turn anything he touches into a fish.
He possesses Blood Demon Art, which is associated with porcelain vases, which aids him in transportation, summoning fish-like monsters, manipulating the cells of those trapped inside, and manipulating the water created by these vases.
Nakime (The Upper Moon Four)

Nakime was originally a demon who would summon other demons to Muzan’s command to the Infinity Castle. She was promoted to his position after the original Upper Rank Four Hantegu was defeated.
She has the ability to create and detach multiple eyeballs from her body, which she uses to spy on others. She is a gifted biwa player with exceptional speed and reflexes.
Infinity Castle is her Blood Demon Art, and it has various rooms that can be altered and changed with a strum of her biwa. She also constructs portals to transport Upper Ranks and assists Muzan in his undetected travel.
Akaza (The Upper Moon Three)

Akaza is a demon who believes in survival of the fittest and enjoys fighting. He is driven to be the strongest and enjoys every moment of the battle.
He is to blame for the deaths of Hashira, Kyojiro Rengoku, and many others. Akaza is an expert in hand-to-hand combat and a master of the Blood Demon Art of destructive death.
He is an intimidating opponent because he has the fastest regeneration capacity among the 12 Moons, as well as a jest to battle.
Doma (The Upper Moon Two)

Doma is the Kizuki’s second strongest member. He appears charismatic and friendly at first, but he is very sadistic and has psychopathic tendencies.
He absorbs the body of his opponents when necessary, owing to his high intelligence and clinical apathy. He is an expert in Tessenjutsu and has incredible speed and reflexes.
He can generate ice and frost from his body using the Blood Demon Art of Cryokinesis, which he can manipulate to make it poisonous for those who wish to inhale it. He creates a statue with deadly freezing attacks as a result of his Bodhisattva attack.
Kokushibo (The Upper Moon One)

Muzan’s right hand is Kokushibo, the strongest Demon Slayer Moon. He has been mentioned several times but has yet to appear in the anime.
He is the Moon Breathing twin of the legendary Sun Breathing Yoriichi Tsugikuni. He has extremely fast reflexes, can use the Transparent World to predict his opponent’s attacks, and can form Katanas from detached parts of his body.
Furthermore, his Blood Demon Art enables him to fashion sharp, blade-shaped crescent moons from his flesh Katana. His three sets of eyes, combined with his menacing aura, make him the most formidable of the enemies.
THE LOWER RANKS
Kamanue (The Lower Moon Six)

Muzan excommunicated Kyogai for not being strong enough, and Kamanue took his place. Muzan killed Kamanue almost instantly after reading his mind.
Rui (The Lower Moon Five)

Rui is a small boy who appears in the Mount Natagumo arc and is calm and polite. Rui gave his blood and spider-like abilities to the mountain monsters in order to form a “family.”
He can also alter the appearances of the monsters to his liking. Rui’s Blood Demon Art is Thread Manipulation, which allows him to create sharp threads from his fingers that can cut through anything. Pumping his blood through it increases its strength.
Mukago (The Lower Moon Four)

Mukago was the most cowardly member of the Lower Rank, and he was killed instantly by Muzan inside the Infinity Castle.
Wakuraba (The Lower Moon Three)

Wakuraba had little screen time as well, but he was shown to have enhanced speed, which he used to flee when all of the Lower Moons were slaughtered.
His regeneration abilities are lacking, as he was unable to regrow his body after being decapitated by Muzan. Muzan, on the other hand, caught him and killed him instantly.
Rokuro (The Lower Moon Two)

When Hiaro, the previous Lower Moon, was killed, Rokuro ascended to the position. Muzan killed the character because he felt insulted when Rokuro asked for more of his blood.
Enmu (The Lower Moon One)

Enmu is a sadist who enjoys making his opponent have a pleasant dream before turning it into a nightmare. After Muzan slaughtered all of the Lower Moons, Enmu was the only one left with the mission to kill Tanjiro.
The Mugen Train Arc demonstrates his ability to fuse himself into inanimate and large objects. The Blood Demon Art of Sleep Induction enables him to enter other people’s dreams with ease and intractability.
Enmu can destroy their spirit core after entering the dream, leaving humans as empty shells that are easier to kill in their dreams.
Final Thoughts!
The Twelve Demon Kizuki each have their own Blood Demon Art while sharing the majority of demon attributes. Their backstories are tragic, and the audience empathises with them.
Because they were not included, anime viewers are unaware of all 12 Moons, but manga readers are well-versed in them. Although the Lower Ranks do not receive as much screen time as the Upper Ranks, they do have an impact on the viewers.
Some of them have yet to appear in the anime, and the announcement of the third season makes the wait even more agonising. So, what are your thoughts on the article? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
