The phrase “gambling anime” sounds intriguing. But what exactly is it, and how does one define it? In our case, gambling refers to participating in a game by placing a bet and taking a risk in the hopes of achieving a desired outcome.
Gambling in anime is unique in that it can provide excitement without the risk of losing money. In this world where great minds compete for high stakes, we’ve compiled a list of the best gambling anime available, some of which are even available on Netflix!
Best Gambling Anime Recommendations!
10. Rio: Rainbow Gate!

The story takes place in the “Howard Resort Hotel,” where people from all over the world come to try their luck. Rio is the sexiest dealer in the casino and is known as the “Goddess of Victory.”
The person who collects the most gate cards from her will be crowned the most valuable casino dealer. As a result, the game between the gamblers begins as they attempt to win these gate cards.
To begin with, fanservice should never be used to evaluate an anime. That’s because some of my favourite anime, such as Fire Force and Food Wars, are judged entirely on Fan Service.
This anime has been on the same ship, but on the other hand, it is quite entertaining. It also depends on how much you enjoy gambling in anime to enjoy this one.
9. Dorei-ku: The Animation

When her best friend’s boyfriend, Yuuga Oota, dumps her for a man, Eiya Arakawa suggests meeting him in person, and they both discover their intellects in the process. He introduces her to a game that uses the Slave Control Method.
When two players enter a duel in this game, the devices influence the loser to bend to the will of the winner. Although it appears to be entertaining at first, Eiya soon finds herself entangled in a far more dangerous game than she could have imagined.
First and foremost, this anime has an interesting concept but also a few plot holes and far too many characters. Because it is unique in executing the concept in such a good way, we can overlook these minor flaws.
There is a lot of ecchi, which is why the anime received mixed reviews. I’m the type of person who can find something positive even in the worst-rated anime. So, obviously, I thoroughly enjoyed this anime.
8. Mardock Scramble

To stop the unstoppable and unkillable enemy, you need someone whose life no longer has meaning and who knows the enemy’s methods better than anyone else. That’s how Rune Balot became a Cyborg.
When she was alive, she was given everything by one person, and when she discovered his shady activities, she was murdered. She now exists solely to track him down and bring him to justice as a female cyborg.
Mardock Scramble is a trio of anime movies rather than an anime series. According to the synopsis, it does not appear to be a gambling anime. It isn’t, but in this case, mental gambling is crucial.
With so many lives on the line, the villain’s tricks are unstoppable, and defeating him becomes increasingly difficult. It’s more of an action sci-fi anime with a few mind games thrown in for good measure.
7. Akagi

On a stormy night, a desperate man gets himself into a pickle by playing Mahjong with the Yakuza. If he loses the game, his death is unavoidable, and just as he was about to give up hope, a teenage boy appears.
The boy, drenched in rain, is allowed to observe the game between them, and soon offers to play in place of the desperate man. The Legend is born that night after his first taste of Mahjong, and he later becomes entangled with the underworld for money and reputation.
Seriously, Akagi is one of the most manly shows I’ve seen. The show’s quality reminds me of Death Note in that it is solid and has an original feel to it. Fans of Seinen would thoroughly enjoy the first half of the series.
The second isn’t bad, but it deviates from the overall theme of the anime, but you’ll still enjoy it. If you’re not bothered by the slow pace, it’ll become one of the best gambling anime you’ll ever see.
6. Legendary Gambler Tetsuya

The story is set in 1947, when the people of Shinjuku are left with little money and no food. To avoid the crisis, the majority of them turn to gambling, which appears to be the only way to survive.
Tetsuya spends his time wiping the floor at Mahjong parlours, but when he meets Boushu-san, a gambling expert, he discovers his talents. Is he good enough to become a legendary gambler?
The main character Tetsuya is the most intriguing aspect of the anime. He is an excellent gambler, and his character development is excellent throughout the story as he attempts to play against others.
If you understand the nuances of cheating, I’d say this show is entirely yours. It’s a lot of fun to watch because of all the facts and the combination of good concepts and awesome execution.
5. No Game No Life

Sora and Shiro are two siblings and an unbeatable duo in any game. They are also known as “BLANK” in the gaming community, and they are transported to another world when they defeat an anonymous person in a game of chess.
Everything in this world is decided by games, whether they are gambling or action-packed. Could the world get any better for gamers?
No Game No Life is not entirely a gambling anime, but every game in this anime has high stakes. It almost makes you feel like you’re watching a gambling anime.
So, if you’re looking for some good gambling anime with some ecchi scenes, this one is a must-see.
4. Kakegurui

If you are weak, you will be trampled at Hyakkou Private Academy. The wealthiest of wealthy students are determined by beating your opponent, not by athletic prowess or book smarts.
Is there a better way to hone those abilities than through gambling? Winners live like kings, while losers remain losers forever. Yumeko Jabami then enrols in the academy to teach these kids the true meaning of gambling.
If you’re looking for a gambling girl anime rather than a typical gambling anime, you’ve found it. This anime is unusual in that it contains a few erotic scenes.
But that’s just fan service, and the entire anime is full of amazing twists and turns. It wouldn’t be fair to say that you’ll be curious about what happens next at the end of each episode.
3. Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor

Kaiji Itou spends his days drinking, and when he is cheated by a former coworker, he is unable to repay his debts to his friend. Then he is offered a dubious deal to engage in illegal gambling on a ship.
Although it appears to be a simple way to make money, it is just the beginning of hell in his life. Watch how Kaiji overcomes mind games, cheating, and deception while the anime depicts human capabilities when they are up against a wall.
Watching Kaiji can put you in a tense situation in which you cannot afford to take breaks between episodes. The anime’s premise is so charged that just watching it will make you feel stressed.
The games are clever and intriguing, but they are also dangerous. A single wrong step for our main characters results in an endless battle and misery. If you enjoy intense gambling anime shows, this is the one for you.
2. Death Parade

The story of Death Parade takes place neither in heaven nor in hell. When someone dies, they are sent to a place called Quindecim, where they must follow a simple rule: if you win the games, you live; if you lose, you die.
Decim is the bartender, and his job is to decide who lives and who dies. Decisions were always easy for him until he met a mysterious woman whose fate seemed impossible to predict.
This is an oddball anime that doesn’t fit into any category. The animation is what distinguishes it as an anime, and MADHOUSE delivered once again. Nothing in this anime feels quite right at times.
Everything in this anime is unusual and impressive, and it is on the list because everything is decided by high stakes games. So, if you’re looking for a good gambling anime, this is the one to watch.
1. One Outs

Baseball legend Kojima has won every award imaginable except one: the championship. To make his dream a reality, he establishes a training camp in the Okinawa region.
There he meets Toua Tokuchi, a gambler who plays baseball. He’ll join on one condition: instead of a salary, he’ll get five million yen for every out and lose fifty million if he loses a point.
Baseball Gambling? Doesn’t that sound intriguing? A mastermind MC with insane baseball skills, and believe me, this anime is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
Even if you know nothing about baseball, you’ll enjoy every aspect of it. You’ll probably binge-watch the entire anime in one day and feel empty for having finished it so quickly.
Conclusive Thoughts!
To be honest, I didn’t watch enough gambling anime to compile this list, which is why it was difficult. However, we were able to compile this list of amazing anime series.
If you’ve been watching these gambling anime for a while, you might notice a few new ones on the list. So, we hope you enjoyed the article, and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comment section below.
