We may or may not like a particular anime, but most of them have at least one outstanding episode. A single episode of an anime can sometimes change your mind about it.

So, we’ve compiled a list of the best anime episodes from various anime series that we thought were extremely entertaining, and some were even shocking. Let’s learn more about them in the following paragraphs.

Best Anime Episodes!

23. Dororo (The story of the Moriko, part 2)

Dororo (The story of the Moriko, part 2)

This, along with the Part 1 episode, was one of the most influential episodes I’ve ever seen. It depicts the exact situation of people during wartime, and Mio did not deserve it in this episode.

She sold herself to both warring factions in order to feed the homeless children, and each of them died as a result. When Hyakkimaru discovers it, we see his rage for the first time in the series, and the direction couldn’t be better.

22. Angel Beats (Graduation)

Angel Beats (Graduation)

Angel Beats has one of the most touching endings, and the final episode was truly heartbreaking. We had no idea what the title “Angel Beats” meant, and when we did, it was the most beautiful moment.

When Otonashi discovers the truth, he falls silent and proposes to Tachibana. I watched this episode in English dub and couldn’t stop crying until the end. Who knows what would have happened if I had watched it with the subtitles.

21. Bakemonogatari (Tsubasa Cat-Part 2)

Bakemonogatari (Tsubasa Cat-Part 2)

I’m not sure about you, but this scene meant everything to me. I just loved Senjogahara’s personality in this episode when she modestly asks for a kiss because it won’t be scary.

It is the most touching and romantic scene in the entire Monogatari series. Because it perfectly demonstrates how their relationship isn’t one-sided, and after watching this episode, who wouldn’t wish for a waifu like Senjogahara?

20. Assassination Classroom (Graduation Time)

Assassination Classroom (Graduation Time)

Graduation Time is the 24th episode of Season 2, and the anime had been pretty entertaining up until this point. This anime has not prepared us for an emotional ride, and this episode is all we need to bawl our eyes out just yet.

The students’ mission from the first episode was to assassinate their teacher, who later became the source of their happiness. However, in this episode, they had to witness his death and learn about his traumatic past.

19. One Piece (My Crewmate’s Pain is My Pain)

One Piece (My Crewmate’s Pain is My Pain)

There are far better-rated episodes in One Piece, but there is a reason (or several reasons) why this is the best. For starters, it demonstrates Zoro’s devotion to the crew, and the scene was simply epic.

He doesn’t care if he dies from the pain, but the fact that he survived and is still conscious until they wake up demonstrates why Zoro is the baddest character. This was the moment that made me scream watch several times.

18. Black Clover (Captain Yami Sukehero)

Black Clover (Captain Yami Sukehero)

Seriously, this is the best episode of Black Clover I’ve seen, and one of the best moments in the manga. From the beginning, we only see Asta and Yuno in action, but fans have always wondered how strong Yami is.

This episode, on the other hand, was pure fire. The animation, action sequences, and the dynamic duo of Asta and Yami elevate it to the ranks of Shounen’s Big Three. Even if you don’t like Black Clover, you can’t deny that this is a masterpiece episode.

17. Tokyo Ghoul (Ghoul)

Tokyo Ghoul (Ghoul)

I agree with everyone else that Tokyo Ghoul was a flop, but how about this episode? Kaneki’s character evolution is insane, and when combined with the background score, this episode was a freaking masterpiece.

All of season one’s previous episodes were okay, and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, this episode hits us like an arrow. I think I watched this episode about 20 times just to see Kaneki be a badass. Will you agree that this is one of the best anime episodes ever made?

16. Food Wars! (Metamorphose)

Food Wars! (Metamorphose)

Isn’t Yukihira Souma awesome? Especially in this episode, where the hotel contestants had to complete 200 servings for random people. We can clearly see how Souma becomes trapped when his dish fails to stand out.

He only had about 30 minutes to complete 200 servings, so how did he do it? By putting on a fantastic show with his live cooking skills, this is without a doubt one of the best anime episodes.

15. The Seven Deadly Sins (Return of the Sins)

The Seven Deadly Sins (Return of the Sins)

If you’ve seen this anime, it’s safe to say that Esacanor is your favourite character. This episode was completely stolen by Escanor. I mean, the battle between Estarossa and Escanor was one of the most bizarre moments in history.

Escanor’s arrogance is palpable, and his self-assurance is at an all-time high. In this episode, we believe the Sins have been cornered, but Escanor intervenes to show that there is still someone who can save Liones. This is The Seven Deadly Sins’ best episode (at least for me).

14. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (He Who Would Swallow God)

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (He Who Would Swallow God)

Seriously, the last 20 episodes of FMAB have been truly outstanding, but this episode was out of this world. When all hope seems lost, Hohenheim reveals how he planned everything from the start, which was a fantastic plot twist.

In the entire series, no death hit me harder than his. He was a slave, had been betrayed by his only friend, had been traumatised by the deaths of thousands of people, and much more, but he refused to give up. This is one of the anime’s most epic and heartbreaking episodes.

13. Dragon Ball Z (Transformed at Last)

Dragon Ball Z (Transformed at Last)

Everyone loves it when Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan, and the Dragon Ball anime was famous for Goku’s transformations. This episode stood out among the others.

When Frieza destroys Goku’s friend Krillin, we see the first Super Saiyan transformation, the first in 1,000 years. The entire episode was fantastic, and goosebumps were only the beginning.

12. Your Lie in April (Spring Breeze)

Your Lie in April (Spring Breeze)

I’m writing this paragraph right now, and I can’t help but cry as I recall what Kaori wrote in the letter to Kousei. This episode was clearly heartbreaking, but it also felt so beautiful.

Kaori was in love with him from the beginning, and she threw away her life so that her idol could fall in love with music again. You must be a robot if you aren’t crying while watching this episode.

11. Jujutsu Kaisen (Accomplices)

 Jujutsu Kaisen (Accomplices)

Trust me when I say that there is an amazing episode of JJK without Gojou’s action. The final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen’s first season was absolutely fantastic. Nobara stole the show in this episode by demonstrating her badassery.

The irony is that she refers to Itadori as a pain tolerator while driving nails into her arm. The sync between their two attacks was flawless, and MAPPA deserves every bit of credit for making it so epic.

10. Naruto Shippuden (Truth)

Naruto Shippuden (Truth)

Naruto is such a long anime with many memorable episodes. But, for me, there is no episode that can top this one because, prior to this episode, I despised Itachi for what he did (just like Sasuke).

But when he saved Sasuke and revealed the truth, I threw my phone away and cried for a few minutes. In this anime, Itachi deserved every ounce of happiness. Seriously, he’s the best character in any medium, not just anime.

9. Violet Evergarden (Loved Ones Will Always Watch Over You)

Violet Evergarden (Loved Ones Will Always Watch Over You)

This is one of those “If you don’t cry, you don’t have a soul” episodes. It perfectly exemplifies the meaning of mother’s love, and it was both sad and beautiful.

When she revealed how she wrote 50 birthday letters to her daughter, tears welled up in my eyes and I didn’t know how to stop them. Violet Everygarden’s best episode as well.

8. My Hero Academia (His Start)

My Hero Academia (His Start)

Every time I watch this episode, I experience surreal emotions. For a long time, we despised Endeavour because of what he did to his family, but in this episode, he was a true hero who was always striving for more power.

Of course, it doesn’t change what he’s done, but at least he’s looking for forgiveness. This episode is my favourite in the entire My Hero Academia series because it was both epic and emotional.

7. The Promised Neverland (150146)

The Promised Neverland (150146)

The ending of the first season is one of the best parts of The Promised Neverland. Emma’s badass moment where she cuts off her ear and Norman’s plan are both fantastic.

Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the episode’s ending, which was one of the best ever. Every minute of the episode was filled with twists and turns, as well as intense situations.

6. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (Chi to ko)

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (Chi to ko)

Without a doubt! This is the best episode of Boruto, and it sets the anime on fire. Regardless of what everyone thinks about Boruto being one of the worst anime, this episode is pure awesomeness.

I’ve never seen an anime flipped so completely, and this episode should be considered one of the best in the Naruto Universe. The combination of Naruto and Sasuke, along with the final touch of Boruto, clearly makes this an amazing episode.

5. Demon Slayer (Hinokami)

Demon Slayer (Hinokami)

Who doesn’t recall this episode? This episode was literally the most popular in 2019, and no matter how many times we watch it, it never gets old.

Leaving aside the fact that Tanjiro has awakened the Hinokami Kagura technique, it was very emotional when his mother appeared in Nezuko’s dream. The overall fight with Rui, the visuals, and everything else is flawless.

4. Hunter x Hunter (Zero x and x Rose)

Hunter x Hunter (Zero x and x Rose)

This was probably the best Hunter x Hunter episode. “If there’s hell, I’ll see you there,” was the most powerful dialogue in the episode, and I was stunned when Nettero pierced his own heart.

Nettero and Meruem’s fight was fantastic, and to think Nettero still had an ace up his sleeve. This one definitely belongs on the list of best anime episodes.

3. Attack on Titan (Hero)

Attack on Titan (Hero)

While the anime’s entire third season was intense, this episode takes it to a whole new level. Every Attack on Titan fan remembers Erwin’s sacrifice, as well as Levi’s beast mode.

Erwin’s strategy was suicidal, and the soldiers knew they were going to die. However, they chose a heroic death, and the episode title “Hero” was intended for all of them, not just Erwin and Levi.

2. Death Note (Revival)

Death Note (Revival)

Because of how Light outwits L in that episode, I’m sure most ratings and people say “Silence” is the best episode of Death Note. But can we discuss this one? Light’s plan is incredible, to say the least.

He was almost caught when he was cornered in episode 18. But, man, this episode always makes me nostalgic, and the music is fantastic.

In this episode, Light Yagami demonstrated that he had surpassed human intelligence limits. What a brilliant idea!

1. Code Geass (Re;)

Code Geass (Re;)

The ending of Code Geass is the best I’ve ever seen. The final ten minutes of this episode were heartbreaking, especially when Nunnally tries to say she loves her brother.

When we learn that it was all planned by Lelouch and is his way of saving the world, no one can argue that it is the best anime ending of all time.

Lelouch may have done many evil things, but he was ultimately the only saviour of Brittania, and indeed the entire world. Do you think this is the best anime episode ever?

Conclusive Thoughts!

There are a few more episodes on my mind that deserve to be included. But for now, let’s just call it a day, and I’ll make sure to update it with new episodes in the future.

So, do you agree with the best anime episodes list? Do you have any specific episodes in mind? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
